FAIR FIGHT is my passion project. Based on the remarkable life of Lilly Ledbetter, the woman about whom President Obama named his first piece of legislation - The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act - Lilly was a Goodyear tire factory worker who discovered that the company was paying her half of what they paid her male counterparts - for twenty years. A political thriller, Lilly fights myriad David & Goliath battles, eventually prevailing against enormous odds, but the struggle has a steep price. Pay disparity is an overt example of gender discrimination, but the resounding themes of the film are the power of the courageous individual and the equality of women. Alabama tire factory worker or Hollywood film director - gender discrimination is the same all over the world.
Imagine a real life Wonder Woman and that’s FAIR FIGHT. A justice seeker, a fearless woman set to right a wrong - this is the perfect film for this moment. FAIR FIGHT captures the zeitgeist of women who insist, resist, persist, and enlist. This is the story of one woman who single-handedly changed an American law.
To be produced by Double Nickel Entertainment's Jenette Kahn and Adam Richman, FAIR FIGHT has been honored with The Ravenal Directing Grant and is an Athena List winner.
